- Dell Technologies Capital: A $2 Billion VC Fund.
- Israeli Entrepreneurship: Defined by Resilience and "Chutzpah".
- Europe and UK: Emerging as Key Expansion Markets.
- AI: The Dominant Wave Across All Tech Sectors.
At Mind the Tech London 2025, Yair Snir, Managing Director of Dell Technologies Capital, offered profound insights into the unique spirit of Israeli entrepreneurship and the evolving landscape of global tech investment. Snir emphasized the "unstoppable" nature of Israeli founders, highlighting their ability to innovate and scale companies despite significant challenges.
Yair Snir introduced Dell Technologies Capital as a purely financially driven Bay Area VC, headquartered in Palo Alto with offices in Boston and Tel Aviv. The firm manages a $2 billion fund and primarily leads early-stage Series D rounds in B2B enterprise businesses. Snir noted their significant activity in Israel over the past 13 years, mirroring their presence in the Bay Area.
When asked what makes Israeli entrepreneurs stand out, Snir moved beyond the traditional notion of "chutzpah" to describe them as "literally unstoppable." He elaborated that despite ongoing challenges, Israeli founders consistently strive forward, establishing, growing, and scaling companies. This relentless drive ensures that "the play never stops when it gets to Israeli tech."
Snir then addressed the common trajectory of Israeli startups, which traditionally look to the US for expansion. While acknowledging the valid reasons for this, he highlighted a growing shift. Given recent geopolitical changes and global realities, Europe, and specifically the UK, presents a "unique opportunity" for Israeli companies to expand in parallel or even beyond the US market. He cited geographical proximity, similar time zones, and access to significant customers, particularly in sectors like cybersecurity and fintech, as key advantages. He stressed that this isn't a replacement for the US but a viable, strategic option.
Looking ahead, Snir unequivocally stated that "everything now is about AI." He described AI as a "huge wave covering all of us," impacting every facet of the high-tech sector. This includes everything from underlying and foundational models to infrastructure and the myriad applications leveraging and enabling the AI revolution.
“Despite all, Israeli entrepreneurs are just unstoppable. They strive forward, they found companies, they grow them, they scale them.”
- Yair Snir, Managing Director at Dell Technologies Capital
