Hey there, are you coming to Music City, Nashville for SE Event Connect? I want to give you five quick tips from a local, well, semi-local. I've been here for 5 years, so I think I know a little bit about Music City. The first thing is to wear comf-

comfortable shoes. Uh the area where the event is taking place is on a slight incline, and depending on where your hotel is, you might be walking a little bit. Um and the weather could affect you how fast you walk or if you want to uh take a stroll in the morning. So, my advice, wear comfy shoes. The second thing is to navigate what we

call the Nashville shuffle. So, because it's very congested downtown, and there could be a lot of things going on, I would say plan to take the walk to Music City Center in the morning from your hotel, and don't rely on ride share. This will allow you to see other parts of Nashville, and not just the hotel and the convention center, and you might find a place to stop in like a honky-tonk if it's open that early. The third thing is to plan your coffee

run. If you're like me, you enjoy coffee from any place other than that word that will not be said, and there are two places that I suggest. One is called the Urban Underground, which is a little bit further away from Music City Center, but still within walking distance, and then there's Surefire Coffee Co., which is a little trailer inside where the Nashville Symphony is. Google those, and you should be able to find them pretty easily.

The fourth thing is to wear layers. Now, um Nashville during July will most likely be humid and hot. Um and depending on how often you're going to go back to your hotel to do a wardrobe change, uh you might want to bring an extra layer because the Music City Center is known to be a little chilly, uh especially if it's hot outside. And we hope that that's the case, praying that that's the case. Uh the fifth thing is to when you're at

the event is to leverage the networking breaks. One of the best parts about coming to industry events is to being able to meet people in the hallways, in the bathroom, maybe in the quiet space. Um do your best to open up the conversation and do something besides and ask something besides what do you do. So, that's my challenge if you are networking to ask something besides what do you do or read their badge first and try to open up that conversation. And those are five
